Milton Precast has been awarded a £32k contract to produce bespoke precast concrete walls for the construction of the interiors of four new buildings at Thames Water's new Chingford South water treatment works. The buildings are of steel-frame construction springing from a reinforced concrete substructure. The low level interior skin of the walls was designed from reinforced concrete panels to be installed in conveniently-sized sections between the vertical and horizontal steel members of the superstructure. Milton produced 64 panels, 2.28m high and in various widths between 0.7m and 5m. Cast-in bespoke fixings (cleats at the top, threaded sockets to take threaded dowel bars at the base) enable the panels to be installed more rapidly without specialist equipment. Milton Precast works closely with contractors, builders' merchants and developers to develop and manufacture bespoke precast units to meet specific requirements. Tel: +44 (0)1795 425 191.
