For demonstrating excellence and efficiency in the use of its client-server retail banking system, First National Bank of Homestead (FNB), in Homestead, Fla., won the first annual BAN Award For the Best Client-Server Application.
The application, which performs core processing, profitability and data warehousing functions, was easy to install and was cost justified in about a year, said David Peyton, FNB vice president.
FNB licensed the Retail Banking System from Phoenix International of Maitland, Fla. The bank was the third beta site for the system and also is an investor in the new company. The system is installed at 19 banks and 50 banks have committed to using it, said Bahram Yusefzadeh, Phoenix chief executive.
