I've been using VRT for the last few years and have had a terrible time with different file extensions (same as everyone else, I expect). I'm thinking of buying either ArcView or MapInfo. Does anyone out there have experience with both of these programs? If so, can you rate them for ease of use, price, etc.?

To make me happy, I needed both and more. Red Hen/AgChem have the Farm HMS and Soil RX programs which do a great job. Also, we are now looking at the cost ... ArcView at $1,200 plus, Spatial Analyst at $2,600 or maybe SST Tools at $3,000 plus or maybe MapInfo and Vertical mapper at around $2,000. Then $1,500 for Farm HMS and whatever Soil RX might cost. Then there's the cost to learn the program!!!!
