The article presents the possibilities of parametric programming of CNC machine tools for the SINUMERIK 840D sl control system. The kinds and types of the definition of variables for the control system under discussion described. On the example of the longitudinal cutting cycle, parametric programming possibilities are shown. The program’s code and its implementation in the control system is described in detail. The principle of parametric programming in a high-level language is also explained.
