Business is taking off for Ozark Mountain MedFlight.
The Missouri Bureau of Emergency Medical Services gave MedFlight the OK to start medical escort services March 1.
Ozark Mountain MedFlight is now the only air ambulance firm in Missouri--and perhaps the Midwest--to offer medical escort services, according to MedFlight President Jerry Schiman, RN.
Licensed to practice in 48 states, Canada and Mexico, the fixed-wing air ambulance service can transport patients wherever they need to go, maintaining the continuity of care with state-of-the art equipment.
Also, the company recently expanded its services.
MedFlight can arrange for ambulatory patients who do not need the high-level, higher cost services of an air ambulance to be accompanied by trained medical personnel to their destinations.
This can be by charter flight, which MedFlight can book for the client from a range of planes and prices, or by commercial flight. The nurse or paramedic is equipped with a medical kit that enables him or her to handle any situation that might arise, all the way up to cardiac arrest, Schiman said.
The advantage to the patient is peace of mind, cost and convenience.
