The highest priority of the cosmetics industry is to ensure the health and safety of consumers through the marketing of products that are safe and effective. Part of this mandate involves product labelling and advertising messages which must adhere to defined standards. CCTFA has taken the initiative, along with Advertising Standards Canada (ASC) and Health Canada, to develop a set of guidelines that assist creators of advertising develop messages that comply with Canadian regulatory requirements. To this end, CCTFA and ASC are pleased to release the second edition of the Guidelines for Cosmetic Advertising and Labelling Claims, which is available electronically from both the CCTFA (http://www.cctfa.ca) and ASC (http://www.adstandards.ca) web sites.
