[Bill Masciangelo], a retired Marine, and [Tom Ninkovich] are professionals in the art of reunion planning. Masciangelo wrote a 13-part series on the subject in 1988-89 and it generated much interest and favorable comment. He and Ninkovich have pooled their knowledge in writing this handbook and it would be invaluable for someone running a reunion for this first time. I believe that most experienced planners would also profit from the book.

MILITARY REUNION HANDBOOK. By Bill Masciangelo, USMC (Ret) and Tom Ninkovich. Published by Reunion Research. 214 pages. Softcover. Stock #2. $11.65 MCA Members. $12.95 Non-members.
The military reunion business is booming. With the 25th anniversary of the Vietnam War, 40th of Korea and 50th of World War II, unit reunions are at an all-time high and will continue to be for the next four years.
Having tried to run a couple of reunions, I can assure you that there is far more to it than meets the eye. While anyone can put together a reunion, a successful one requires a great deal of planning.
Bill Masciangelo, a retired Marine, and Tom Ninkovich are professionals in the art of reunion planning.
The guide covers, among other subjects: negotiating contracts, finances, record keeping, locating people, entertainment, food and beverages.
While not perfect, by any means, it is the best book on planning military reunions that we have seen. All but seasoned planners should learn enough by reading it to save the cost of the book, many times over.
