GRAND HYATT SEOUL
A star shines brightly at Grand Hyatt Seoul's ice skating rink Naomi Nari Nam, the 13year-old Korean-American skating sensation, returned to her homeland to a hero's welcome at the Grand Hyatt Seoul.
The silver medalist at the 1999 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, performed exhibitions March 5 and 6 to packed audiences at the hotel's outdoor skating rink. Her poise and style clearly displayed the makings of a future Olympic champion.
Nam started skating at the age of 5 and emerged on the international skating scene in 1996 with a fourth-place fmish in the U.S. National Juniors. Her 1999 second place in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships has positioned her to look toward the gold medal at the 2002 Olympics.
Her visit was the result of a friendship between her U.S. skating coach, John Nicks, and the Grand Hyatt Seoul's skating director, Scott Driscoll, who is a former U.S. Professional Figure Skating champion himself.
