Abstract

Like the demand for wellness programs, employers' interest in, and familiarity with, consumer-directed health plans (CDHP)-which cost less than traditional health plans, have lower deductibles, and include a health savings/reimbursement account-are surprisingly low. Of the employers surveyed, only 17% describe their familiarity with these plans as 'very high.' Among small employers with 2 to 49 employees, the percentage drops to 12%.
