New York - Intel Corp. made two strategic moves last week to strengthen its networking business, acquiring Case Technology, a Denmark-based company that makes Fast Ethernet products, for $72 million, and acquiring a 12.5% interest in Xircom Inc., a PC-Card company.
The acquisitions support Intel's focus on improving network connectivity solutions on desktop and mobile PC platforms.
