Las Vegas - While Intel Corp. moves to squelch its rivals on the PC front, the PowerPC alliance is trying to sneak in the back door by giving away blueprints of Apple Computer Inc.'s Macintosh architecture to PC companies.
Motorola's PowerPC division is now reaching out to the rest of the OEM community by showing a reference design that lets OEMs build Mac clones using an open platform based on standard parts.
