Abstract
The holder of the Blue Trust was Bruce Verchere, an imaginative, mediocre student from Kamloops, known at UBC as an engaging, sophisticated, partying, humorous, prevaricator. He believed that "life was for living." To this end he chose Toronto born, University of Manitoba graduate, computer programmer Lynn Walters as his wife for life, although, in addition to the two sons they had together, he also fathered twins with Diane, one of Arthur Hailey's daughters.
Blue Trust is not a sequel to her national best-seller, Ottawa Inside Out nor her political blockbuster On the Take: Crime Corruption and Greed in the [Brian Mulroney] Years, but it does peripherally feature Brian Mulroney, who even appears in that startling last chapter as a pallbearer. As did Ms. [Stevie Cameron]'s earlier books, this one reads like a novel and where names and places, dates and dollars are concerned, the facts appear to be reliable.
