As the fastest-growing plant, bamboos are mainly distributed in the tropical, subtropical, and warm temperate regions from 46° N to 47° S[1l Geographically, they are mainly distributed in Asia, the Americas, and Africa. There are more than 1,200 species of bamboo placed in more than 70 genera in the world. There are 689 species of bamboo belonging to 38 genera, which have been produced and published in China, accounting for about 1/2 of the world's bamboo resources14. More than 20 species of bamboos have been commonly used in garden landscapes14.
In China, bamboo is widely used in architecture and daily life objects, and bamboo culture has gradually formed. Bamboo-centered landscape construction has become one of the means of traditional Chinese landscape architecture. Under the influence of "the West Wind Blew to China", Chinese modern architecture and landscape architecture have undergone a cultural break. With the rapid development of China's economy and the rapid rise of the national strength, the recognition and pursuit of self-culture has become a trend that is currently populous in the field of design, and is also a practical expression on the road to national rejuvenation. In this context, "new Chinese-style" landscapes are created as a cultural product. Bamboo is an important component of traditional architecture and gardening. The study of the application of bamboo elements in the "new Chinese-style" landscapes has two purposes: on the one hand, it inherits and develops the context of Chinese garden landscape; on the other hand, it explores the use of bamboo elements in the landscape under modern aesthetics. Related research is of significance in promoting the heritage of bamboo culture and the application of bamboo elements in the landscape.
