ÖÖD VALGED JA MUSTAD: KIRJAVAHETUS AASTAST 2001 (Nights light and black: Correspondence from the year 2001) was first published in Swedish and Finnish (Vita nätter och svarta, Valkeat yöt ja mustat, both in 2002), and an Estonian translation has recently appeared. The book-by one of the most prominent Estonian poets and essayists, Jaan Kaplinski, and well-known Finnish-Swedish essayist Johannes Salminen (born on the Åland Islands)-contains five letters by each of the authors written in 2001 and forms a sequel to a book of correspondence written in Finnish and Swedish entitled Kas Tartus laulab veel ööbik?
