Sovereign Bank Arena, Trenton, NJ., managed by Globe Facility Services, has attracted 150,000-plus through the doors of the 10,000-capacity venue since it opened Oct. 1.
There are 11 million people living within 50 miles of the venue and four million within a 30-mile radius in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The $53 million arena expects to book 150 dates the first year of operation.
The top four grossing events have been Shania Twain, $594,000; "Wizard of Oz on Ice," $315,000; World Wrestling Federation, $271,608; and John Mellencamp, $194,287.
The facility has two minor league tenants, the East Coast Hockey League Titans and International Basketball League Shooting Stars. The Stars began their season in late November.
