INDUSTRY-WIDE EFFORT TO UPGRADE STANDARDS
BURLINGTON, Wis. - All Star Amusements of South Barrington, Ill., is taking what owner/operator Jeff Blomsness describes as "baby steps" toward conforming to an industry-wide effort to upgrade and improve carnival standards.
That includes "exchanging ideas with other carnivals, which is a function of the OABA and Showmen's League of America," he said.
"I'm sending my son, Robert [a Colorado State University student], to see other shows" like Mid America Shows this summer, where All Star wants to find out about Danny Huston's effective electrical system.
Last year, Robert Blomsness experienced firsthand Guy Leavitt's operation in action at the Arizona State Fair, Phoenix. His father also visited RCS at the Orange County Fair, Costa Mesa.
This season, Tom Thebault, Astro Amusements, part of Blomsness Thebault Enterprises, observed Cammack at the Houston Livestock Show dt Rodeo.
