The Acme Oyster House is expanding upward and outward.
This month, a new Acme Oyster House will open on Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie while a second floor of dining at its French Quarter location will be available just in time for the convention season this summer.
Glen Armantrout, Acme chief operating officer said the goal was to further Acme's expansion into the New Orleans-area market before moving throughout the Gulf Coast.
Our plan has always been to go about expanding methodically, he said.
The Metairie location will open in the 3000 block of Veterans Memorial Boulevard in a 6,300-square-foot building previously occupied by a Cuco's Mexican Restaurant. The $600,000 conversion is scheduled to be completed in time for a late-January opening.
