Abstract

Intel has filed suit against United Microelectronics Corp (UMC) in Singapore, Germany, and Hong Kong, claiming that the semiconductor supplier is infringing on patents on 486 microprocessors. UMC needs to prove that it developed the 486 series using so-called "clean room" technology.
