Tenneco Packaging announced a definitive agreement to acquire Richter Manufacturing Corp., a leading producer of protective packaging products in the western LI.S. Based in Pomona, Calif., with additional production facilities in Visalia, Calif., and Kent, Wash., Richter manufactures and distributes air-cushioned plastic packaging (bubble wrap), padded mailers, cushion pads, and polyethylene foam protective packaging.The acquisition complements Tenneco's existing product line, which includes the protective packaging products of Astro-Valcour Inc. (AVI), acquired from KNP BT in 1997, and Tenneco's Hexacomb protective packaging business.
