As wonderful as the Internet may be, there still remains a common desire: "the need for speed."
Whether you are average user, a small business or a large enterprise, speed is not only convenient, it can be critical, especially for business.
The "need for speed" appears on two business fronts: the small business with a limited budget and the larger, worldwide enterprise that needs fast access for revenue-generating Web enterprises around the globe. Obviously, each business will attack the problem differently.
A technology known as "Web acceleration" has arrived in the Web vernacular as an enhancement that promises solutions to everyone's "need for speed."

There are many small businesses that have what is known as "dial-up" Internet access. Dial-up access is the more traditional, slower way to access the Internet. It involves a device known as "analog phone modem."
