Kitson Nation: Fraser Ross is planning to debut a Kitson Men's store a block from the original Robertson Boulevard boutique in Los Angeles. Ross told Footwear News that he signed a lease at the end of March. While the new store will skew more toward apparel, about 5 percent of sales are expected to come from Havaianas, Lacoste flip-flops and limited-edition sneakers. Could a Kitson shoe concept be far off? "It's something that we're thinking about," said Ross. "I really do feel that I should have a shoes and accessories store because we're doing at least $2 million a year in shoes."
In other Kitson news, an eagle-eyed shopper tipped off FN that Target's Manhattan Beach, Calif., store was selling children's boots in Kitson-branded boxes earlier this year. Kitson confirmed that it was not a sanctioned licensing deal, and rumor has it that the trendy celebrity haunt is in settlement talks with the discount giant.
