Windows Virtual Desktop Offers Free Windows 7 Extended Updates

Some background context: A few weeks ago, Microsoft announced new tools to help customers continue on their migration to Windows 10 and the modern desktop environment. While the new service provides multiple benefits, one small line item confirms that if you use Windows Virtual Desktop which offers both Windows 7 and Windows 10 virtual desktops via the cloud, then the extended security updates are free for three years after the January 2020 end of support date for Windows 7. According to Microsoft, virtual access to Office 365 is already very robust but they are working on further enhancements to that access to go along with the Windows Virtual Desktop service.
