"All the Real Indians Died Off": And 20 Other Myths About Native Americans is a new book by two members of the cosmopolitan Native intelligentsia, Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz and Dina Gilio-Whitaker. The book critically deconstructs persistent and annoying myths and stereotypes about American Indians. The authors analyze what are imagined mythologies and then reconstruct what are the facts from imagined mythologies. To use the authors' own words, the book is a "call to action to envision a better future for everyone, Indian and non-Indian alike."
