Southfield-based Hospice of Michigan Inc. finished its 2000 fiscal year in the black after a rocky 1999.
Operational improvements, including the creation of a local fast-response access center to help families with end-of-life care decisions, helped Hospice of Michigan to eke out an operating gain of $483,947 in 2000, compared with a loss of $3.3 million in 1999, President and CEO Dottie Deremo said.
