Plymouth Township is seeing the results of meteoric growth at the Johnson Controls Inc. Automotive Systems Group.
The car-seat-maker, based in the township, is building a seat-assembly plant near Beck Road and M-14 in Plymouth Township that will require 300 new workers when it opens next summer. The plant will cost $5 million to $6 million.
Company spokesman Jeff Steiner said Johnson Controls began site work for the 120,000-square-foot plant last month. It will be just outside the Metro West Technology Park, where Johnson Controls opened an automotive technical center and headquarters in 1990.
