As it deepens its stake in a quickly-growing wireless sector, IntraNet Solutions Inc. is also taking a stake in some other Twin Cities companies, investing in a pair of local wireless-technology startups in recent months.
The Eden Prairie company, which moved into the wireless space last year, aims to lay the groundwork for growth that by 2002 will give a wireless flavor to $4 out of every $5 the company takes in. The deals also contain partnership elements that let IntraNet
Solutions build its own market presence through the younger companies' offerings.
IntraNet Solutions, which sells software that manages data and documents via the Web, has taken minority ownership in Ubiquio Inc. of Plymouth and Wireless Ronin Technologies Inc. of Osseo, both fledgling firms carving out positions in a developing wireless market that has analysts and observers poised for a boom.
