With FileMaker Pro for Windows, Claris introduces user-oriented data management on the Windows platform. Most data management products are developer's tools. FileMaker Pro for Windows is for the end-user.
Database Power Without Programming: FileMaker Pro for Windows provides database capabilities by harnessing the complexities of data management within an intuitive, easy to learned graphical user interface. With FileMaker Pro for Windows, users can manage information efficiently and produce highly sophisticated results without programming. FileMaker Pro for Windows and Macintosh function exactly the same except for a few platform-specific capabilities (i.e. AppleEvents, DAL and DAM support on the Macintosh version, DLLs and additional graphics filters on the Windows version).
Like any database product, FileMaker Pro deals with indices, fields, records, and files. However it hides the complexity of data management so that users can manage information without the help of a programmer. Several ready-made applications are included as templates to permit users to begin using FileMaker Pro immediately.
