For banks, reaching the most important customers remains the crux of Internet delivery. Chicago-based Harris Bank is doing just that by launching a new Internet service for its private banking clients.
The Bank of Montreal subsidiary has added access to investment and trust account information through the Private Bank page of its Web site (www.harrisbank.com), enabling its affluent customers to track their portfolios online.
"While the market is getting increasingly savvy technologically, I don't think a lot of private banks offer the capability to view investment and trust accounts online. So we wanted to be ahead of the curve," said Keith Jacomine, vice president of private banking at Harris. "Customers have been increasingly asking for this availability, and we wanted to meet their needs."
Now, whether private bank customers access Harris through a branch, call center or the Internet, they will get the same information....
