OBE for specialist health visitor and nurse director
Annie Darby, a specialist health visitor for substance misuse and Lola Oni, a nurse director and lecturer were both awarded OBEs for services to the NHS in the Queen's Birthday Honours list. Ms Darby, who works at North East Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust, and Ms Oni, who works at the Brent Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Centre, North West London Hospitals NHS Trust, said they were 'delighted' and 'honoured' to have their work recognised.
Extra cash for support group
A funding boost of £40,000 has been given to the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society (SANDS) by the Department of Health. The cash will be allocated over three years and will be used to maintain a helpline for bereaved parents and their families, develop support provided through the SANDS website, improve the quality of care provided by professionals to bereaved parents and to identify and promote ways to reduce the incidences...
