Controversial Churchill statue is removed

To raise awareness about the stigma surrounding mental health, a controversial statue of Winston Churchill bound in a straitjacket was put on display in the Norwich Forum recently by mental health charity Rethink.

However the statue was removed after just three days after it was banned by the owners of the forum.

The charity chose Churchill as the subject of the statue, as the war-time Prime Minister had been voted The Greatest Briton' in a BBC poll, but also because he suffered from bipolar disorder throughout his life.
