The sagging economy and the costs associated with covering the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks have forced vet another broadcasting company to cut spending and positions. Seattle-based Fisher Broadcasting, which employs 1,000 workers at its 12 network-affiliated TV stations, last week said it will cut total expenditures by 10 percent, "part of which will include layoffs," according to Fisher senior vp Christopher Wheeler.
