* Free benefit benchmarking tool available. BenPulse, from Milliman USA and Employee Benefits News (EBN), assesses a firm's benefits programs relative to its competitors and provides statistics on each benefits category. After completing a survey, participants will receive a free "QuickPulse" analysis, which provides an objective ranking of how the company's benefits program compares to all other EBN/ Milliman survey respondents. The free analysis, reports benefitsnews.com, presents the company's performance in five major benefits areas: (1) health coverage for active employees; (2) retiree health coverage; (3) total retirement income and savings plans; (4) paid time off; and (5) life insurance, long-term disability insurance, and stock options. QuickPulse also provides important guidance on overall benefits trends and developments. Respondents wanting more detailed feedback can get critical benefits diagnostics via a "stress test" analysis. This allows employers to obtain critical ranking and benefits outlay information within the employer's region, industry and region combined, and workforce size, and allows companies to determine strong or weak benefits areas relative to their competitors. For more information: Contact Jeff Lane at Milliman (McLean, Va.; 703-917-0143). Cost: $500.
