Abstract

Collocation facilities are open for business. These are independent location that let CLECs better control their gear and their service offerings. The success of an independent collocation facility hinges on its ability to connect with all types of service providers. For about $1,000 a month, Colomotion provides locking collocation cabinet and requisite power. The company charges a nominal fee for cross-connecting a T-1 and a bit more for cross-connecting DS-3s. Colomotion's 2 main revenue streams are subleasing space and cross-connecting equipment. Colocation Corp. has a network operating center on-site and provides limited service assistance. The key draw is the unbiased presentation of services.
