NEW ROMANIAN CHAMP
Andreea Munteanu won the all-around and floor titles at the Romanian championships, held July 4-6 in Bacau. 2002 world bars medalist Oana Petrovschi did not compete because of injury, and world beam medalist Oana Ban finished sixth with mistakes on bars (8.925) and floor (8.90). Monica Rosu won vault, Dana Sofronie won bars, and Ban claimed the beam title.

PAVLOVA, PODGORNY RULE RUSSIA
Anna Pavlova and Yevgeny Podgorny took the women's and men's all-around titles at the Russian Cup, held July 19-20 in Moscow. Defending women's titlist Natalia Ziganshina placed fourth, and defending silver medalist Yelena Zamolodchikova performed on two events only. Nikolai Kryukov. who won the men's all-around in 2002, slipped to fifth, while defending bronze medalist Yevgeny Krylov retained his rank.

Suzanne Harmes won the all-around and three event titles at the Dutch championships, held June 14-15 in Nijmegen. Laura van Leeuwen. who was fifth, won the bars title. Absent because of injury or illness were Verona van de Leur, Renske Endel and Berber van den Berg.

TOMITA PRIMED FOR ANAHEIM
Hiroyuki Tomita defeated veteran Naoya Tsukahara to win the NHK Cup/World Trials in Tokyo, May 30-31. Tomita. 22. is Japan's best hope for an all-around medal at the 2003 worlds in Anaheim.
