This time last year, GoSystem Suite appeared in these pages under the aegis of Computer Language Research. But the Carrollton, Texas, operation was subsequently acquired by RIA and has assumed the parent's name. For the most part, though, it's business as usual.
"The 'new' RIA is continuing development of Internet-based applications and is further integrating RIA's unparalleled tax information with sophisticated application software," says Jeri Dupuy, GoSystem Tax product marketing manager. (RIA is owned by Thomson Corp., which also owns Faulkner & Gray, publishers of Accounting Technology.) Boardroom developments aside, the Carrollton unit remains focused on promoting its GoSystem RS (as in remote server), which lets preparers enter client data into a file, transfer that file over the Internet to RIA, and allow RIA to do the heavy-duty processing. This spares the preparer from needing to constantly upgrade hardware.
