A French lawyer has attacked as unjust a decision by the magistrate investigating the Erika disaster to issue an international warrant for the arrest of the master of the wrecked tanker. According to French judicial sources, the magistrate, Dominique de Talane, issued the warrant on Tuesday on the grounds that Captain Karun Mathur had failed to respond to three requests to present himself before him in Paris. But Capt. Mathur's lawyer, Michel Quimbert, told Lloyd's List yesterday that Capt. Mathur had already explained to the judge that he was ready to come to Paris to see her but...
