Mascot: Bucky Bison
Issue: Bucky has a bad case of wanderlust.
What's happening: Bucky -- or, rather, a miniature version of the mascot -- recently returned from an international sojourn, much to the delight of the staff in the admissions office, his permanent home. He disappeared last March and traveled for nine months. Staffers received cards from Bucky with postmarks from Kentucky, Vermont, and Wyoming as well as France, Kenya, and Mexico. He even sent e-mail messages from his [email protected] account. He returned in time for homecoming last November, wearing hiking boots, a sombrero, and a sign, "Bucknell Admissions or Bust."
Members of the admissions staff took his disappearance in stride. "He's a bison, so he has to roam," said one.
