Red-M, a developer of advanced wireless Internet server products and subsidiary of Madge Networks N.V. (NASDAQ NM: MADGF), and Ericsson are cooperating to advance the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) for use over Bluetooth.
WAP is a powerful technology that enables mobile access to the Internet from a range of small-screen handheld devices including mobile phones. Bluetooth is a short-range wireless technology backed by over 1,800 of the world's leading companies. By combining WAP and Bluetooth, Red-M and Ericsson are demonstrating the future of office- based communication solutions that provide access to both the Internet and company Intranet over a wireless connection from a mobile phone or other personal device.
