The Kraus Curriculum Development Library (KCDL ) was begun in 1983, providing curriculum materials for K-12 and basic adult education. The product is now owned by Rowman Littlefield. Materials have been collected from local to national educational entities as well as educational associations. In 2001, with the 20th edition, the library migrated from a microfiche collection to a digital one. With the 28th edition, the print index has been discontinued, although the shelf list is available in PDF format on request.
Materials are chosen for their currency, authority, and content requirements. State department of education curriculum are always collected because they set the educational standards.
