Oxford is a well-respected name when it comes to reference works. The publisher's latest Web-based product, Oxford Reference Online (ORO), is an attempt to road test the applicability of these resources in an online environment. Students will no longer have to run to the shelves to consult a specialized dictionary. Instead, they can now do a search across more than 150 reference sources at once, pulling up definitions, short articles, and quotations from general sources such as The Oxford Dictionary of 20th Century Quotations and The Concise Oxford Dictionary, as well as more specialized sources such as A Dictionary of Computing and A Dictionary of the Bible.
