NCR Corp. has purchased the assets of Netkey Inc., a provider of kiosk digital signage management software, reports American Banker, a CardLine sister publication. The Duluth, Ga.-based ATM and self-serve kiosk maker said Monday the acquisition would help its expanding kiosk operations; many of Netkey's 400 clients already use NCR's technology with their self-checkout and point-of-sale systems. Business-machine maker Pitney Bowes Inc., for example, uses Netkey software on an NCR kiosk for one of its postage meter products. NCR did not give a price for the transaction. "This acquisition will enable NCR to help its customers across multiple industries with kiosks and digital-signage [services] that deliver more-effective transactions, promotions and information as part of a merged channel strategy," Mike Webster, vice president and general manager of NCR's retail business line, said in a press release. Netkey is based in East Haven, Conn.
