We found Intel's LANDesk Management Suite offers solid but not exceptional inventory functionality and does a good job of trending and licensing. Missing, however, is a strong distributed architecture, a feature that Intel is addressing for future releases through its partnership with PLATINUM.
Overall, Intel's inventory and software distribution is average when compared with the other products we tested. Like HP's solution, it doesn't offer the enterprise security or platform support found in Tivoli's or PLATINUM's solutions.
Like HP Desktop Administrator, Intel's LANDesk Management Suite is well-integrated, offering installation or configuration wizards, rightclick context sensitive properties, and NDS- and Windows NT-based access control.
