Fortunes have been made in gold and silver. Michael Ricker struck gold with a less prestigious metal -- pewter.
Estes Park-based Michael Ricker Pewter since 1964 has topped $350 million in sales of pewter sculpture through galleries in 17 states.
Revenue comes from sales of the 250,000-plus pewter collectibles at the firm's casting plant. Ricker Pewter melts more than 250 tons per year of Old English Pewter ingots to cast pewter figurines, limitededition sculptures...
