Abstract
The industrial sector consumes the largest share of energy demanded in Brazil and the world, particularly electricity, and improvements in its energy performance provide environmental and economic benefits to all stakeholders in the supply chain. An attempt of energy performance assessment is extending the Lean Manufacturing Value Stream Map tool, adding other inputs for measurement. However, there is no convergence to a common model, it lacks operational information about modeling energy consumption, and an analysis of the wastes on the overall impact of the organization. Therefore, it is proposed an extension of the Value Stream Mapping to evaluate energy performance inputs for an industrial organization. Due to the impact of electric sector in either environmental or economic issues its rules are used as a reference. The study presents a case study where wastes were identified with the proposed method with positive outcomes.
