Back in the old days--all of ten years ago--bankers lost sleep over computer system security.
They worried that computer hackers might break into bank files and steal millions of dollars. That possibility has not been entirely eliminated, but managers of bank information systems have surrounded sensitive files with forbidding electronic ramparts or "firewalls" to keep the bad guys at bay.
