After weak second quarter, Bill Foster resumes control of fault-tolerant systems vendor
Back to the drawing board. Just six months after he handed off the CEO job at Stratus Computer, Inc. to a handpicked successor, company founder Bill Foster took it back last week.
Foster, who had been chairman of Stratus since January, resumed full operating control of the struggling fault-tolerant systems vendor.
Gary Haroian, a 13-year Stratus veteran who had been Foster's longtime second-in-command, resigned as president and CEO.
The management change follows a surprisingly weak second quarter by Marlboro, Mass.-based Stratus. The company reported flat sales and profits that were half of what Wall Street expected. Its stock price...
