People are discovering plastic surgery no longer connotes a traditional nose job or facelift. Virtually any part of the body can be cosmetically altered or reconstructively repaired.
And if you hate hospitals, you're in luck because now you can have plastic surgery at the doctor's office and recuperate in Grand Rapids' most recognized hotel.
Plastic Surgery Associates, a brainstorm of Amway Corp., opened shop recently on the sixth and seventh floors of the Grand Plaza Place building connected to the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel.
Amway spokesperson Karen Vaughn said Amway Properties had been looking for tenants and plastic surgery seemed a natural combination with the hotel.
Dr. John H. Beernink, PSA senior physician, agreed. He said it wasn't a matter of being associated the four-star hotel, but an idea that has never been put into play.
"As far as we know, it hasn't been done in the United States so far," Vaughn said. "We were just fortunate enough to have the facilities."
