HAAGEN-DAZS Reserve: For Ice Cream Connoisseurs Only
Häagen-Dazs, a division of Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, Inc., Oakland, Calif., has introduced the Reserve Series, a line of super-premium ice creams featuring exotic, gourmet flavors.
Targeted at "ice cream aficionados," Dreyer's Grand says thte upscale line features six unusual flavor combinations: Hawaiian Lehua Honey and Sweet Cream; Pomegranate Chip, which balances sweet and tart Mediterranean pomegranates with dark chocolate chips; Amazon Valley Chocolate, featuring intensely flavored Amazon Valley cocoa beans offering notes of roasted chestnuts and hazelnuts; Brazilian Açai Berry Sorbet, crafted from the Açai berry that delivers notes of blackberries and blueberries; Toasted Coconut Sesame Brittle, ginger-infused sesame brittle folded into a luxurious ice cream with fresh-shaved, lightly toasted coconut; and the Pomegranate Dark Chocolate Bar, that pairs a dark chocolate coating with pomegranate ice cream.
Häagen-Dazs says that the line was successful in select markets and plans to make it available nationally in 2008 for a suggested retail price of $4.99 per pint.The line will expand in March 2008 with a new flavor. Fleur De Sel Caramel, a salted caramel ice cream balanced with morsels of chocolate-covered salty caramel and a French sea salt caramel swirl.

Super-premium juice maker Naked Juice, Azusa, Calif., has introduced Naked Juice Probiotic, declaring it to be the first 100% juice smoothie with probiotics, microorganisms which may aid in digestive and immune health.The smoothies also contain a prebiotican ingredient used to help stimulate good bacteria that are already in the digestive tract.
