Paging carrier alliance aims at exploiting Internet

Abstract

Eight major wireless messaging companies and the 2 largest manufacturers of paging systems have joined to form the Personal Communicator Wireless Alliance (PCWA), which plans to work with manufacturers of personal digital assistants to create a new generation of Internet-based handheld communicators. The PCWA's main goal will be to foster PDA communications based on the paging companies' commitment to Motorola Inc.'s ReFLEX communications technology.
