The San Jose Earthquakes of Major League Soccer have an iffy owner -ship situation, no general manager and a coach stuck in limbo until a GM is signed. Five years of searching has produced no identifiable Mexican star that general wisdom says is needed for this area, and the team is ranked dead last in recognition among professional Bay Area sports teams.
The good news is that when you've hit bottom, there is no place left to go but up.
"We haven't performed on or off the field," admits Tom Neale, director of business operations for the San Jose Earthquakes.
